M/Y Mission

Very few people get to see nature at its most extraordinary in the Polar regions and other remote areas. Those that do may well be onboard the new explorer concept developed by Dutch superyacht yard Icon Yachts, which sought out cutting-edge designers from around the world for this revolutionary 64-metre project. Carla was chosen to create the interior and has worked closely with exterior designer Bernd Weel to develop an ambience that is a contrast to the masculine profile while offering a profound sense of connection to the outdoor world.

Nature has a key role to play throughout the interior of the Mission, an integral part of a futuristic style that embraces light and a palette of minimal colours. The key for Carla was never to detract from the amazing sights that guests will be seeing outside the giant windows of the yacht. Au contraire, earth elements reinforce the correlation while a portfolio if forms and shapes initiate a spirit of harmony.

The high level of sophistication and detailing will make the Mission’s interior ideal for personal exploration. Multifaceted spaces allow owners to take scientists with them on their voyages and provide dedicated research facilities. All onboard will live in comfort and, as you can read via the link below, Bernd Weel is delighted with the teamwork between his design studio and CGD: “Carla has done a stunning job on a yacht where the interior complements the exterior and vice versa.”
